Introduction to Agility: Foundations

Canine Good Citizen certification

Course Overview :

This flatwork course introduces the foundational skills needed for the sport of dog agility. We will work on impulse control games, body coordination exercises, stay and release, obstacle focus vs. handler focus, crosses, turns/switches, targeting, and 2-on/2-off contact skills. Dogs will gain experience with tunnels, cone wraps, a contact trainer (in preparation for the A-frame, dog walk, and teeter), and very low jumps. Handlers will learn how to keep their dogs engaged even in distracting environments, improve their mechanics, use food and tugging as rewards, and set their dogs up for success.

All dogs must register before attending any class. No registrations accepted after the closing date without approval of the Training Director and a $20 late fee.

Registration is online and per dog per class. Registration does not guarantee your spot in a class. The training director reserves the right to cancel or move your registration to another class.

You will receive an email confirmation when:

your registration has been received,
your payment has been processed, and
your registration has been confirmed, meaning you are in the class.

If you do not receive an email for any of these steps, please contact our registrar.

We accept PayPal and checks. We must receive your check before your registration will be confirmed!
